    To Solve “SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED” error while using PIP Error I installed pip 1.2.1 with easy_install and upgraded to latest version of pip (6.0.7 at the time) which is able to install packages in my case.

Solution 1


Among his solutions, maybe this is the most simple one: --trusted-host

For example, in this case you can do

pip install --trusted-host pypi.python.org linkchecker

The pem file(or anything else) is unnecessary.

Solution 2

I installed pip 1.2.1 with easy_install and upgraded to latest version of pip (6.0.7 at the time) which is able to install packages in my case.

easy_install pip==1.2.1
pip install --upgrade pip
